Our Rooms

#1 The Blue Room – A luxurious, deep blue room on the right front of the second floor of the house has a fireplace and large windows. The Blue Room boasts a king grey iron sleigh bed, ornamented with brass roping garlands and comfortable appointments capped by a lovely chandelier in a period medallion. The wall-to-wall patterned carpet in blues, tans and browns recalls eras of yesteryear. The en suite large bathroom has a custom shower, a period claw foot tub, commode and corner pedestal sink, all accented with a black and white hex tile floor and walls wainscoted with white subway tile. The warm tobacco brown upper walls and ceiling are complemented by a three-light stained glass chandelier and pair of matching wall sconces.

#2 – The Tower Room – A bright and uniquely painted left front story room, the Tower Room boasts the bow windows of the second story of the tower on the house. The elaborately patterned brass queen bed is framed with a magnificent paisley kilim fabric in golds and aqua and is dressed with plush bedding. The room boasts a beautiful chandelier in an ornate medallion and a comfortable reading chair in the tower curve for reading. The partially restored wood floors are adorned with an ornate vintage Karastan carpet. Period shutters from an old estate in Rochester, NY dress the four-window bay curve along with lush draperies. Taking the ceiling color of the room from the hand-painted Turkish tile in the bath, the eclectic nature of the furnishings lends to its appeal. The ensuite bath has a large custom shower, lined with cobalt blue, white and aqua Turkish hand-painted tile, is complete with a lovely pedestal sink, commode and shutters and curtains matching those of the bedroom.

#3 – The Georgian Room – The right side middle second floor bedroom, the Georgian Room (so named because of the rich period wall color of Georgian Brick), surprises with a substantial queen sleigh bed inset with woven panels and a Bombay-shaped marble topped bedside dresser. A center ceiling medallion caps a beautiful chandelier. The room is complete with sumptuous fabrics on the bed and windows, utilizing a remarkable soft terra cotta Chinese key patterned material accented with a bold taffeta striped companion cloth. The restored hardwood floor is accented with complimentary antique rugs. The unusual ensuite bathroom, with half walls and floors tiled in marble, features a stunning simple vanity with a green glass sink, a curved shower and commode. Over the vanity is a restored period “up and down” brass light with original antique shades.

#4 – The Gilt Room – At first look, one assumes the matching twin canopy beds in the Gilt Room are brass, but one touch tells you they are warm wood, deftly gilt with a soft golden sheen. Draped in soft canopy fabrics, the rich bedding is complemented by the Tapestry-like valances on the windows with orchids and hummingbirds capping long yellow Chinese key patterned drapes that pull in the verdant light green of the walls. The gasolier chandelier sits in a beautiful central medallion. These beds can be combined to make a king bed if guest occupancy demands it. The large ensuite bathroom includes a pedestal sink, commode and combination bath tub/shower with sliding glass doors, a faux cherry wood floor and reproduction tin ceiling with a warm cream and gold lattice bamboo wallpaper over bead board walls.

#5 – Bombay Room – One of the most striking rooms of the house, this rear right side large bedroom contains a king mahogany Bombay Company canopy bed, fireplace, chaise and antique dresser. The unique paint combination in the room stuns with a rich gold ceiling that wraps down the walls, a deep chocolate brown on the lower walls accented where they meet with a carved molding. The hand-knotted bed-skirt sets the tone for the plush bedding, the rich carpet of tans, taupes, browns, reds, greens and oranges, and the draperies on the triple near floor-to-ceiling windows. The ensuite travertine bath boasts a stained wood wainscot, large custom shower, antique sink and claw foot tub, all with copper fixtures. An antique chandelier is centered in the ceiling and a light with four gracefully curved arms hangs above the sink mirror. An antique bead board closet finishes the room with space for toiletries and hanging clothes.
